Living Isa58 Course

What are Biblical Justice and Mercy?

What does it look like to love like Jesus? How can followers of Christ be light and mend our neighborhoods and cities? What does it mean to care for the marginalized, the vulnerable, and the under-resourced? How do we even get started? Can we even make a real difference? These are the questions we most often hear and will engage with in this course.

Foundations Course: Justice & Mercy

This course of six sessions is intended for small groups. It includes digital course guides for participants, facilitation guides, exercises, and even email templates to ease facilitation communication.

Foundations Course: Justice & Mercy

Session 4: Shalom Embodied in Word & Table

Session 5: Contemplative Activism

Session 6: Conclusion & Next Steps

  • To gain theological vision and language for the hurting in our communities.

  • To gain socio-historical perspective into how the church in general - and Anglicans in particular - have actively sought the welfare of those around them; to see that it’s normal to love our neighbors! This is what we do; it’s what the church has always done.

  • To gain stories and ideas from those who are active in these spaces today.

  • To gain practice. Practical exercises and tools help to identify and prioritize a focus area and begin the work of emboding love and practical support for those in need around you.
