LEARNING OBJECTIVES
To gain theological vision and language for the hurting in our communities, for those not flourishing.
To gain a socio-historical perspective into how the church in general, and Anglicans in particular, have actively sought the welfare of those around them; to see that it’s normal to love our neighbors! This is what we do; it’s what the church has always done.
To gain stories and ideas from those who are active in these spaces today. Why do they do what they do? How do they do it?
To gain practice. Practical exercises and tools to identify and prioritize a focus area, as well as ways to begin a work that embodies love and practical support for those in need around you.

Shepherd. Humbly facilitate conversation to incorporate each person’s head, heart, and hands. Be present to needs and point to Jesus.
HOW TO DO IT
FAQ’S
-
First, thank you for being willing to guide a small group through this content!
Second, your role as a facilitator is to guide a small group through healthy conversations about how to better love your neighbors. Prayerfully review the resources and ask God to help you shape each session. There is more content provided than necessary for your group to be successful. We’ve provided the additional content to give you more options to customize the course to the needs of your group. -
No. We have provided multiple types of media content to give you flexibility to meet the needs of your group.
The core content is the videos and discussion questions.
You can decide if you want to leverage the slides, the online learning platform, the handouts, and other content. -
Not every group is in a physical location together, other groups may not have conducive weather, or other challenges.
If you are not able to do that activity, get creative. Have participants provide their perspective of what the community looks like, go on a driving tour, or have participants walk or drive around their local church or neighborhood. -
Living Isa58 is about loving God and loving others through a deeply rooted theological and biblical lens. It is not a course on local or national politics.
If you feel it is necessary, feel free to share group norms or expectations during your first session and then hold the group to those throughout the course. -
