Anglicans for Life Canada (AFLC)

Grant Amount Needed: $2,875

By supporting this project, you will be helping to fight back the darkness and culture of death prevailing across Canada. You will be helping to drain “spiritual medics” to step into difficult places of hopelessness and despair to share the hope and light of Jesus.

Project Overview

Anglicans For Life Canada (AFLC) is an Anglican Life-Affirming Ministry that provides both biblical and practical support to individuals and churches in upholding the sanctity of all human life from conception to natural death. Their M.A.G.I. (pronounced Maggie) Mercy and Grace Infusion Ministry has been established to train clergy/laity as ‘Spiritual Medics’ to go out onto the ‘battlefield of hopelessness and despair’ with God’s Mercy and Grace. And at the same time equip the Church community as a ‘safe haven/hospital’ to empower the congregation, gather in the wounded. and offer and infuse His Healing and support to all people.

Their ministry is to more fully address Grief Support especially in this area of complicated grief. AFLC works to address the Canadian crisis of MAID (Medical Assistance/Aid in dying (legalized suicide) as it becomes more normative to the secular culture, and, sadly, to a rising number of Christian communities.

Project Impact

This initiative and project is a ‘Sanctity of Life’ Outreach Ministry. Every human life from the moment of conception is a unique person made in the image of God, and each moment of his or her life has meaning and purpose.

Jesus has modeled for us all, how to uphold and nurture one another through His Compassion in action. This includes: bringing medical care to the ill, spiritual healing to the broken and lonely, support and care for those who mourn, all of which are part of this ministry. This year, especially, as advocates for MAID (Medical Assistance/Aid in Dying) push relentlessly to widen the eligibility rules to include people (of all ages) with mental health issues (including minors), there are an increasing number of people being snared into believing that choosing ‘legalized suicide’ is their only answer.

We advocate that actively bringing God’s Mercy and Grace through Jesus the ‘Living Water’ is the game-changer – both for the one contemplating/choosing MAID and for those left behind to deal with the complicated grief and loss.
